Five special sessions, organized by students, post-doctoral and research fellows, were selected by the Scientific Organizing Committee, out of over 20 submitted session proposals, as a part of the regular scientific program. The final selection by the scientific committee was based on the novelty and timeliness of the topic, and the redundancy with existing sessions.
The sessions are:
Microminerals homeostasis: mechanisms and disease implications
Plasmid Biology
Simulating Life: Digital Twins for Precision and Planetary Health
Bacterial multicellularity and aggregation
Immune Restraint: Targeted Strategies to Suppress Harmful Immunity in Autoimmune, Inflammatory, and Infectious Diseases
