Nine special sessions, organized by students, post-doctoral fellows and research fellows, were selected by the Scientific Organizing Committee, out of over 40 submitted session proposals, as a part of the regular scientific program. The scientific committee took into consideration the novelty and timeliness of the topic, and the redundancy with existing sessions.

The sessions are:

  • From the lab to the plate – BioConvergence for food development
  • Mechanism of Healthy Aging
  • Protein translation in health and disease
  • From mutation to evolution
  • Tissue Repair in the Animal Kingdom
  • Molecular tools in wildlife conservation research
  • New Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering Applications
  • Biological control and plasticity from molecular circuits to human populations
  • Biophysics of plants
